Anti-Rabies Serum (Equine) serves as a passive immunizing agent. It contains purified immunoglobulins derived from horses hyper-immunized with the rabies virus.
It is indicated for severe Category III exposures (e.g., bites near the head/neck or multiple wounds) to provide immediate protection by neutralizing the virus at the wound site before the body's own immune system can produce antibodies in response to the vaccine.
